Welcome 2009!

Well I can't believe it's already almost a week into January of 2009! The holiday months sure did fly by and we've done a lot of fun stuff the past few weeks. Here are some of our highlights of the last month.

*Since Christmas this year was with David's family- my parents and siblings all came down the week before Christmas so that we could have our own little family celebration. We went and saw the Temple lights, we had a yummy dinner together (our family favorite of chicken fettucini), played some fun Christmas games, then did our sibling gift exchange. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we were able get together!
Here are some pictures from our night looking at the Temple lights:

*Christmas morning we woke up and had some breakfast. We made hot cocoa and went in to open presents. I think I got the most exciting present from David- an ipod!
David sitting and drinking hit hot cocoa while watching the 'yule log burn' on TV and listening to Christmas music. haha.
*We went to David's dads a couple of hours after we woke up and had brunch and exchanged gifts there. Rena made some awesome brunch food that was delicious! David got some nice tool stuff and I got some great decorations for the house. Madden got a batman bike that he loves. He is constantly getting on it and saying 'mom mom mom mom'... and then pushing one of the buttons that make noise.
Madden on his bat-mobile:
*In the afternoon we came back home to start getting ready for Christmas dinner. David's mom, grammy and cousin (and her two kids) came over to spend the afternoon. This was the first time I've ever had to worry about cooking on Christmas and if I say so myself... it turned out pretty good! It was so great to spend time with David's mom and grammy since we don't get to see them very often. And I'm mad that I didn't take hardly any pictures!
Here is David cutting our ham. He is using grill utensils. He's got that crazy look in his eye:
*Once our Christmas celebrations were over we decided to make the trip up to Heber so David could go snowboarding. Since the weather was too bad on Friday, David opted to board on Saturday and we went on a little date on Friday. We watched 'Marley and Me' (which is such a cute movie but made me cry at the end) and went to eat at our favorite place in ShowLow 'Grumpy Jakes'.
*David got to attend a Cardinals football game with my dad and the Mogollon High School football team. The team was being honored at the game since they took state. David enjoyed getting to see the stadium and of course getting to watch his favorite team play.
David and Cameron at the game:
Go Cards!
*My pregnancy is going good so far. I am 16 weeks along and go to the doctor on Friday- and I'll probably set up my ultrasound appointment then. I was expecting my sickness to be long gone by now but I still have some days that I get really nauseous at night. I'm hoping it won't last the whole time!
Here's my little baby bump at 15 weeks:
*We've been enjoying the family time we've been able to spend together since David took off a few extra days of work. We spent a Saturday at sycamore doing a picnic and riding quads. And David took a day and made a shelf in our garage- which prompted us to re-organize our attic and gave us a renewed determination to get going on our year supply since we have room to store it. I'm SO glad for the extra space and the shelf turned out great. So glad to have such a handy-man!
Here is our adorable and energetic little guy. He is making us laugh more and more these days. He loves to help around the house and copy what mom and dad do.
The wonderful shelf David made:
I Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I'm looking forward to the New Year!

Sounds like you spent a lot of time traveling! I knew how Marley and Me ended but I still ended up crying at the end! I blame it on pregnancy! Speaking of which...I hope your morning sickness wears off soon too! I'm 25 weeks and I still get sick! I have a feeling I'm just going to be that way till she is born!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm so bummed that we didn't get to see you (minus the .2 seconds I saw you in Wal-Mart and almost made David pee his pants!) CRAP! I really can't believe I didn't get to come by. My time just flies when I'm in Arizona.
So we got like 10 inches of powder snow in the utah valley in which I live. I bet the snowboarding is absolutely WONDERFUL this week...hint, hint.
Your little belly is so cute! I love it!

I loved that movie!! I have always loved dogs but I have always been on the fence with having my own Dog, because Jake would insist that it be inside most of the time and I just get crazy with thinking about cleaning up after kids and a smelly dog but I think I am sold after that movie haha for now anyway- Your little bump is cute!! Cant wait to find out what you are having!!! And I always say this but I mean it we need to get together! Maybe next week?
